Carpenter Apprenticeship Training

The New York City District Council of Carpenters Training Center (CTC) is a leading trade school based in Manhattan that prepares apprentices and journeymen for careers in carpentry and related construction trades. Jointly sponsored by union members and signatory contractors, the Center offers a range of New York State Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship programs in fields such as general carpentry, millwright, cabinet making, high-rise concrete, floor covering, and dock building. Apprentices complete a combination of classroom instruction and on-the-job training to become highly skilled, safety-conscious professionals ready to build the city’s skyline. The CTC also provides ongoing skills, certification, and safety classes for journeymen, as well as a pre-apprenticeship program that helps prepare candidates for entry into the formal apprenticeship.
